Similar to the texture overlay tutorial.

This is a rushed job, but I hope you get the idea!

I mention the Flickr user Pisco Bandito...he has actually changed his account name to his real name, Josh Sommers, so searching for Pisco won't work anymore...

The Poisonous Apple picture was the inspiration for this tutorial.

Check him out - he creates the most amazing images. You WILL be amazed!

  • Hey man, I'm havin trouble with the layers and I wanted to know how you got they layers window to the right (3:25). Thanks

  • @tplatt15 ctrl+L

  • MalGalin...I have tried to put a "Man on the moon" but I have not executed it right. I was thinking you could do something like this video...but with the moon.

  • Should be fairly straight forward. I'm reluctant to put up another video showing the same technique using different images, since I don't really like to repeat myself or others if possible, but I might if I get a free minute and I'm bored.

The key is just to play around with the layer modes really, and apply a good gaussian blured layer mask to the edge of the face your implanting...see Enselic's face replace tutorial for more on layer masks

  • HELP ME PLEASE i have gimp but i cant use it because when i start it it says windows need to close... i have reinstalled and restarted my pc

  • I'm afraid I have no idea. I suggest you try asking on a tech forum, or possible even a dedicated Gimp forum.

  • I Use Photoshop and i think the PS Result looks way better.

  • Thanks to this video I now will use the Value mode. But when using the eraser tool use the furry brush setting, it helps blend the face with picture a bit more.

  • If the below doesn't work, or you can't find it just hit this hotkey: Ctrl + L

  • In GIMP click the "Windows" tab and click "Dockable Dialogs" there will be a long list of dockable dialogs, and choose "Layers" from the list. Hope that helps. :)
