Or perhaps they just hate Jay Leno on their own and quote Hicks because he put people's frustration with him and corporate comedians like him in particularly clever and stark relief. The difference between him and other comedians who also hawk products is that at this point if you take away the ad man in Jay Leno you're left with absolutely nothing and yet he still is on TV making that "good living". I personally couldn't give two shits about Conan or any of the rest of it.

Yes, we get it. You all watched Bill Hicks, found out what a shill is and now hate jay leno. He need to talk about topical things for the audience to be engaged. He needs to have corporate sponsors for the Real Estate and Studio they are renting. If you subscribe to him, that's up to you, he's just making a living and a good one at that. It's all one big commercial. The shows, news, sports. All of it is just selling stuff the whole time. Not only products, which is obvious, but ideas and a lifestyle that benefits those that profit from a consumer driven society.
