If you were to hear the Romani speech of the earliest English Roma, I'm sure they would sound very different to the voice on this video. I'm "sure" because her accent is very English.
By the way, if the "xx" which you typed at the end of your last means "kiss kiss", then you'd better be female. :D
I am English Roma by many generations, and here I can understand the Jib, many other Countries have the same word but pronounce it differently. This is not a problem as we seem to understand each other anyway. Amazing when you think of the diversity of our language. Many years and Continents, and we can still understand.....after a while. Do not forget about posture and arms, they weave a story also.
Hm... I wonder if you'll find my pronunciations amusing. I'm sure u won't!
Anyway, you're hearing a British dialect of Romani in this video (though even that's not accurate, methinks). UK Roma are especially diluted, both their language and blood-lines. Some Roma have even mistaken 'Pikies' as a branch of their own---totally wrong, because Pikies have no Indian ancestry. I think--can't say I know--Pikies are descendants of Irish royals & aristocrats displaced by English invaders.
This is what the non Rromani are called in "some" dialects and not the main standard European/American Karldarash. The old grammar you have is for English Rromani, from England. Your pronounciation is also in need of some assistance. Blessings
