  • @ daoskillz Oh my good god !!! A million time better !!! I certainly should drink mud every time I get shots with my 190€ Classic-For-The-Poors :(

    Come on...

  • @snedie69er Rancilio Silvia is certainly a million times better. It was in fact voted the top domestic coffee machine in the world by jetblack espresso, even beating jura, it makes the best coffee even if ur a noob!!

  • Rancilio Silvia or Gagia Classic?

  • @panadevulpe Either you'r very sensitive about the taste or you'r doing something else wrong to get it "turkish" with 25 sek extraction. What kind of beans do you use, how many grams/ounces of coffe in the portafilter, what grinder do you have? 20 sek extraction i could understand, but 10 sound extremly short but i guess i could try it at least once. :)

  • @panadevulpe Good advice but beginners need rules. Where does one start? A 10 sec 1 oz shot isn't typical. Neither is a 40 sec 1.5 oz shot. Timing is a matter of taste. The grind, dose, tamp, etc are typical rules.

The tried & true 25-30 sec pull per 1.5 oz shot has been around for over a century since the 1st La Pavoni manual lever machine was invented. Most modern espresso makers suggest that duration as a starting point. Adjustments follow as we perfect our technique for the tastiest shot.

  • who was the smart ass to decide on the 25 seconds thing ?? just play with the thing till you get the espresso YOU like .

to me , it tastes way better if its a 10 seconds to 1 ounce shot . if I grind it too fine and tamp it hard I get the "turkish" taste , and I dont like it . just find out what you like ppl , forget about rules

  • The shot takes almost 40 seconds wich is way too long. Go for 25-30 seconds. Lighten your tamp and/or adjust your grind. However, I had my Gaggia Classic for 3 years now. Wonderful machine!

  • thats some fine work

  • I've got a gaggia classic, addicted now, use it at least twice a day, got it cheap at Whittards on a special deal, love it.........................
