I can't believe some of the hideous comments made by childish, insensitive farts about this guy's weight increase. I mean , is THAT all they can say? Hiram was undergoing cancer treatment..this involved steroids and hence the weight gain. So what? Maybe one day these commentors will experience some of the same(?) The world's a sadder place without Hiram.

I loved Hiram...I saw David Sanborn years ago and Hiram was playing with him...midway through the show....Hiram sat on the edge of the stage and played "Misty"...as in Johnny Mathis's "Misty"
God...it was absolutely amazing...I sat there spell bound and wanted to cry!
I knew and loved him from Letterman and his album "From All Sides"...but this single act cemented me as a fan for life. What a stellar talent he was.
Oh...I was in the second row and close enough to touch him...Amazing!

Guitar clinics are so f***ing crass. Nerdy finger watchers thinking, yeah if I learn to go widdly-widdly like that I'll get laid eventually. This rock guitar hero crap is 60s bullshit; utter corporate nonsense exported worldwide like some dork cult religion. Get a life, play real music with real tunes on real instruments (there's hundreds of varieties of all out there).
Shame 'cause HB was a top musical dude, but this lame muso excreta sure ain't music. Less guitars - MORE MUSIC!!

I didn't know he died! Anyway, he sounds a lot like Mike Stern to me. Jaco must have had a specific idea for what he wanted from the guitar because he worked with both of them a lot.
