About This Piece: 'Faithful God' by Dean Jones. Played by Portsmouth Citadel Band of The Salvation Army. Conducted by Deputy Bandmaster Andrew Short. The following words go with the tune: 'Faithful God, faithful God, all sufficient one, I worship You. Shalom, my peace, my strong deliverer. I lift You up, faithful God.' Shalom is a Hebrew word meaning peace, completeness, and welfare.

About This Event: Sunday 25th January 2009. Portsmouth Citadel launched a new format for evening meetings for 2009, more details of which can be found on the corps website (link below). The band were asked to provide the programme for the first 'Sunday Concert', and responded with something a little different with a 'big band' style set up. The aim was to bring together some pieces that were fun and lively, but more reflective ones too.
