This is my rendition of Leo Kottke's stylish 12 string instrumental entitled "Disco" from his 2002 Private Music release of "Clone". For a transcription of this tune visit Stropes Editions.

  • This is great playing. And it sounds great, which is not the same :)

  • @pihi42 Thanks?

  • Man, you play very well, awesome. I watched Leo live 3 times (Netherlands) and the guy is really impressive. Good entertainer too. Which of his songs would you recomend as "least hard" to play (none of his stuff is really easy...)?

  • @ozuidema Thanks very much for taking the time to have a listen and for the really nice comment. I would say "easier" Kottke tunes would be maybe "Little Martha, Accordion Bells, Rick and Bob Report, Mona Ray". These are tunes I learned and thought they were less hard than others. I checked out your videos and you have captured some nice performances as well. You definitely got skills. Your Lowden is a fine sounding instrument. Nice warm tone. Ice Miner VERY NICE.

  • whats that called on the soundhole

  • It is a LR Baggs M1A soundhole acoustic pickup.

  • Hey Chris, I think this one needs a redo. You have the speed and the syncopation down much better.

    Best Regards,

    Jimmy

  • Amazing, my friend

  • Holy hell, this is really good. Leo and Mike would be proud.

  • Many thanks, I have picked up some of the tabs and will give it a try, although I always considered LK to be outside the realm of my possibilities... BTW, "Groundhog Day Blizzard" is a great title for that vid you posted (loved the movie); you should write a song with that name!

  • nicely done. love this tune.

  • 5 that´s the way a guitar should be played. great
