NOT the TOP GEAR review!

Here are my thoughts on my almost first drive in my new Hot Chocolate Mini Cooper Clubman.

Nice car, but a mix up with the collection date did somewhat spoil the fun. But let's not let a bit of 'buyer beware' spoil an otherwise excellent driving experience.

First impressions say I would recommend this car - and you're bound to hear about it if I change my mind!

PS: About the Top Gear thing: all everyone tells me is Top Gear slated the Mini Clubman for putting the suicide door on the wrong side. I know it is and it doesn't bother me! Cheers :)

Can you fit an upright bass, also called double bass in the back with the seats folded down?

@321qaw I doubt it, a cello probably but a double bass could be pushing it. That said, if you flipped the front passenger seat forward who knows...!

Fantastic car! How has the Clubman been working out for you so far?

it's pretty ood. my backseat passengers appreciate the extra space and everyone admires the indivuality of the 'chocolate world' interior! it's easy to drive, you only notice it's longer that the original new mini when you are reverse parking. and appart for a random squeek - probably from the rear seats - no complaints!

should i buy a mini cooper or cadillac DTS 2005 ?

i'm not familiar with the Cadillac but the Mini's are great driver's cars. I recommend the Cooper, although only go for the Clubman version if you really need the extra space!

Majority od people buy minis is due to style over substance. Buy the car and keep it as long as your warranty is still active. This is not a Japanese car where you can keep 10 plus years or over 100, 000 miles. It's BMW ...what do u expect?

How could Top Gear say the door was on the wrong side? If someone as tall as me was driving, and there were two passengers, there's no way the back seat passenger would get behind me. I think it's pretty standard that people pile into a car passenger-side first.
