The municipality of Beijing borders Hebei Province to the north, west, south, and for a small section in the east, and Tianjin Municipality to the southeast.[6] Beijing is one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China.

Beijing is not a 'city' in the US/European sense of the word, but more like a 'country'. It has more population than the Netherlands and more than twice the population that of Sweden or Switzerland.
