@viddi888 misjafn er smekkur manna. mér þykir Megas persónulega vera fráleytur söngvari en hann má eiga það að hann sé ágætur textahöfundur
-
Megas er snillingur og allt það, en á þessum tíma hefði ég ekki viljað hitta hann í dimmu húsasundi :p

I like this guy! What is the song he's singing. It sounds like "Banks of the Ohio," although I'm not sure there's an Icelandic translation of that.

He's sort of Iceland's answer to Bob Dylan. Björk, at the start of her career, did background vocals with him. The tune he's singing to is an American traditional, but I didn't know the name. Might be "Banks of the Ohio", have to check.

That's what the tune sounds like to me. I'd love a translation of the first verse or two.
Does he go by the name Megas, just one name? He plays mainly in Iceland?

His real name is Magnus Thor Jonsson, but since Magnus is a very common name, he uses the Greek version, Megas, of this Latin-derived name, and, as an artist, goes by that name only.
The Icelandic text to the Banks of the Ohio is not a translation of the original, but a kidnd of prayer written by a pastor who suffered from diabetes from which he eventually died. It goes something like: In humble prayer/ And thanks to Thee/Who Knows my heart/And what I've done....
