@Kiefer89 The guards are the wall were East German, not Russian. Comments about the name being male in Russia and a nice bit of political correctness referring to John's homosexuality, but it's not based on anything concrete.

It's interesting to see this as part of language learning. I used it when I taught English to a group of Spanish-speaking students. I only had the song itself, but my students loved it. By the way, the gal who plays the part of the singer (name's Anya Major) is a good singer herself. She has at least two songs on You Tube, too.
