@TheReadyMen Posthumously perhaps? I don't know, I don't own this.
-
This is available on a clear 5" record that was distributed with copies of the Pigpile VHS tape, which is why it was released after their break up.

It feels so weird to hear Albini sing about sex and love. I'm used to hearing him sing about self immolation and slaughtering animals.

@gamera138 now thats lucky!
-
hysterical! Love it!
-
Sounds like the beasty boys riped this song to some extent.
-
@TheReadyMen maybe they recorded it for fun before they split?
-
How was this released in 1992 when Big Black broke up in 1987?

Holy shit this is amazing, the original was cool but this is badass and kinda funny at the same time it took me til the ooh ooh part to realize what song this was haha

I hate to be mean, but I get the feeling that the people who don't like this cover liked the original and thought it was going to sound pretty much exactly the same.
Which I find to be anathema to the idea of doing covers in the first place. If you're not going to do anything interesting, why bother? The original band have then already done it better.
@borntoperform96 I'm fairly sure they did this for 3 reasons:
(1) people who like the song and don't like Big Black will have your reaction right now, no failure there
(2) people who don't like the song will enjoy hearing it .. shall we say .. mishandled, and
(3) people who like the song AND Big Black (like me) will get a kick out of the contrast of hearing it done the way Big Black normally makes records. So they set out to do 3 things and accomplished all of them.

i found the unlabeled clear 5" record inside of another 7" i bought at a used record store (found it when i got home). so it was basically free, and i was super psyched.
one of the best covers ever.
