and just pull the 2 sides of the hand away from eachother that makes him just that little bit bigger

and.. u have to put the front side up not the back side or it wont flip over i build mine again and it worked and i putted the orange piece on the hand needs to be putted backwards (it worked by me)

looks like a hardware Issue, try modifying the lego pieces 2 make it fit to the cube a bit better, or maby even trying a cube with different measurements even if it says 1 thing and u followed the prints specifically it might be a little off in the way it crabs the cube, mess around with some other legos on it 2 make it more tight or loose if need be maby even making the tray the cube sets in a little taller on the front side.. thats ur best bet i dont feel its a programing issue

I don't own any Lego Mindstorm stuff so I don't know IF you could do it, But can you try slowing the speed at which the tray the cube sites and the arms move?
