Desert - if you happen to find a way of getting a Japanese copy of A9 then you should take the opportunity. I realise that importing to Europe/USA is prohibitively expensive, though. It wouldn't even help if I picked-up a few copies and put them on Ebay...the cost would still be over 100.

It might be that this is simply yet another little gem of a game the Japanese get to enjoy all to themselves.

Well I would choose to like this if they would sell it somewhere in the UK or US so that I could get my hands on it. Rather infuriating that I can't find it anywhere in the U.S. or in the U.K. where I can buy it digitally.
