  • This is when families were really families

  • I always thought the coolest part was when Theo comes down the stairs, no idea why. Also, I think Bill Cosby did the most believable lip-synch; not necessarily because he was the best, but because he sounds enough like Ray Charles that it could easily have been him singing instead of Ray.

  • Bill Cosby has the illest facial expressions ever !!! He came with it on this classic espisode.

  • why would anyone dislike this...

  • Keisha Knight-Pulliam is so adorable in this episode...she stole the show! Hard to believe she grew up to be that sexy thang I saw in Beauty Shop...definitely hard to see her as Rudy anymore LOL

  • @kenneth804 I watched every single episode. I know Cliff & Claire hung in there together by a thread. Black Couples dont do that in real life anymore. You must be some sort of Doctor & white? Black People would beat thier children with broomsticks & ironing cords back in the day & leave their children outside all night. There's a word for that & It's called tough love. I dont know where you get off saying it's child abuse. Olivia shouldve been an outsider, instead of being "In the family".

  • @1990babyface If I can't have dialogue with my parents (of who I have two great parents) then it makes it hard for me to share with them problems I may be having if I am scared of getting a beatdown if I challenge them in anyway or say anything outside of your unnecessarily narrow standard of what a child can say.

Parenting is about training, which implies some back and forth and flexibility. Not a beatdown.

  • @1990babyface Correcting them in a loving manner includes corporal punishment, but not always. If you look at the entire season again, you will see the Huxtables have a wonderful family that is, for the most part, well behaved. Both Claire and Heathcliff were ready, willing and fully capable of delivering adequate punishment.

And you welcome someone like Olivia because she is your step-grandchild and is family.

  • @kenneth804 How in the hell do you welcome someone in your family like Olivia? But back to Rudy, It IS based on facts, she was disrespectful & a little demon from hell. Viewers & Parents thought she was just a sweet, innocent person who doesnt know what she's doing & young. Yelling, Pouting, Easedroping, taddletailing & doing shit that youre not supposed to do behind parents back is downright disrespectful

  • @1990babyface You must have had a lapse in memory. It seems you have an innate dislike for Rudy for some reason that isn't based on the facts. By the same standard, Olivia would be just as disrespectful. But the fact is by most human standards Rudy wasn't as disrespectful as you are letting on.

Threatning to put someone in the ER is simply child abuse. I am not against corporal punishment, but you take it way overboard for the supposed disrespect.
