Rare video of the world famous Finocchio Club in San Francisco. The Finocchio Club ran for over 60 years and featured some of the top female impersonators in the world. This video is courtesy of Paul Ryner, who was one of the few people allowed to tape the show with permission from Eve Finocchio in 1980.
In this first segment you will see long time emcee Carroll Wallace introducing the show and the Finocchio Evettes in the opening number "Strike Up The Band". The Evettes are Rene de Carlo, Coquis, Pacos Rios, and Florencio de los Santos. Carroll Wallace then introduces singer-impressionist David de Alba as Boy-Chic singing his theme song "I'm Gonna Live Until I Die". Mr. de Alba then changes on stage to perform his lively Liza Minnelli act singing a tag from "Cabaret" and "New York, New York"
Musical backup provided by Bill Bullard, Mark, and Shep.

Taken during the heyday of San Francisco's famous Finocchio's Club, if you never saw it live, you missed a fantastic opportunity. David de Alba was one of the many great performers who graced her stage. The city is now just a bit less unique and certainly not as much fun with the loss of that venue.

A message from Entertainer David de Alba:
It is very nice of Keny to launch on "You Tube" this very rare video clip taken at Finocchio's and which I gave him recently for him to see and also have.
Our mutual and dear friend Emcee Carroll Wallace is no longer here on Earth and I am glad generations to come will be able to see him via this clip.
By the way, I used to style Carroll's lovely wigs along with many other performers's wigs at that famous revue.........God bless!
