Marianas Trench- August Burns Red Contest Entry

When sought upon the task of making a music video we first looked at one of the most important part of any song. Thats of course the lyrical meaning and purpose. As a Team, we here at Epic Win Films saw the "ship is sinking" as a metaphor regarding someone's life goin down the drain. We took this project as a challenge and what I believe others overlooked was the "interpretation" of the Song and simply not the performance of it. We all collaborated very heavily, to say, and finally we had an Idea of what was to come. After scoping out the locations we found it unnecessary for permits (were only 16 year old's =)) So we went guerrilla style and used multiple locations around our city. Our crew included about nine of us. Ive known Mikey, our main character, since 5th grade and I saw he had that perfect look for the project. Bri, Mikey's Ex-Girlfriend in the video, was actually cast on spot cause she was Mikey's neighbor that just so happened to help us out. The friends section was where everyone else came into play. We had a fun time shooting and people actually stopped and wondered what we were doing. But everything turned out well and we got all the shots we needed. Epic Win Films started last year but since we saved up for a new camera, we recently saw how we could be taken seriously but still have a good time with it. Were all good friends and we do what we love. Were still learning but thats the great part of it. Thanks for your Your Time, We thank everyone for your support.

*QUICK SYNOPSIS*
We find a teen a pondering, then were caught in a flashback...
Friends and Skating, the perfect afternoon...
Then we see our young teen walk, he wants to be alone.
But suddenly the cloudiness of his girl surrounds him again he thinks of how it was good back then. its very rocky now.
For comfort he takes some pill, not conscious of how its hurting him.
A text comes.." Let's Party?". The answer is obvious for him.
After being out for the day he comes home. " Son your Eyes, are you okay?"
He pushes his outstretched arm, then pushes his Dad away in anger.
"No one understands, go to her just maybe" He stumbles and to his surprise shes already out front.
She's on the phone teary eyed. He tries to embrace her but she pushes away
"I cant take you like this!" she spots something in his pocket. Drugs...
He slaps it out of her hand but she can't see him the same... she throws her necklace he gave her before, for she wants nothing of his remembrance.
He's losing it the drugs are taking over, he clenches his fist and breaks the mirror. His hand bleeds with pain, failure, and regret. Then, he ponders once more...

@XxDeathxxTollxX Thanks man! haha we use the Canon T2I with an array of lenses (including a few older photography lenses that capture good DOF) but ah bummer man! if you want to go prosumer DSLRs are where its at
