  • I was at his debut recital at peabody. Best guitarist I've ever seen. We literally gave him a ten-minute standing ovation. Seeing him live really makes you realize how meaningless all the competition winners are in the grand scheme of things.

  • One of the best you will ever see. xxxMauro77xxx has no idea what he is talking about. All performances are interpretations, ALL OF THEM. If anything in this performance, or any performance for that matter, is not in the original score, then thank god someone in the classical music world still knows how to improvise. Horowitz, one of the great pianists of the 20th century, was legendary for his IMPROVISED cadenzas on Chopin pieces. I've seen a lot of guitarists & it doesn't get much better.

  • This guy is the best guitar player in the planet. No John Williams, no David Russell, no Marcin Dylla. Nobody else.

  • This is a pretty powerful performance. Wonderful guitar tone. Excellent all around.

  • @xxxMauro77xxx Well, according to the manuscript found in the Boije collection, Lukasz is playing exactly what is written - both the "Marcia" (March) and the "octave final scale" exist in reality.

However, I wasn't happy with the tempos he adopted with either. Being a March, it was played far too slowly; and in the Final variation, his blazing away neither brought out the full charm, nor develop the drama which is always present in Giuliani's music.

Nonetheless, Lukasz is a very fine artist!!

  • Yeah.

This just proves that the guitar program in Peabody is so much better than Julliard.

  • I don't even hear the guitar holding him back - he's actually making music. Very inspiring.

  • Bravo!

  • I agree 1000% with monkeydude72. this guy is amazing. If there is better than this then bring it on.

  • Great playing I have tons of classical guitar videos on my site if anyone is interested.
