Arnel Pineda polished his platinum pipes and sang a soaring rendition of the Philippines national anthem on March 13 for "The Event" at Cowboys Stadium. Flanked on either side by a throng of his countrymen and cheered on by the 50,000-plus in attendance (many of whom were Filipino), the Philippines-born lead singer of the legendary American band Journey delivered a pitch-perfect performance that ended with a window-cracking falsetto and an oceanic applause. Could Pineda's inspired singing have further inspired Manny Pacquiao, whose love of the Philippines is well-known, to dominate Joshua Clottey in their 12-round bout? Or was that Pacquiao just being Pacquiao? We report, you decide. Leave your comments below.
