The Desires were one of the best Austin R&R bands you never heard of unless you were lucky enough to live or visit central Texas in 1979-80. They played all the best Austin venues such as : The Continental Club, Hole in the Wall, Armadillo, The Back Room, Rauls, Steamboat, The Texas Tavern, Dukes Royal Coach Inn, Mother Earth, Liberty Lunch, Too Bitter and The Rome Inn. They even opened for Hall and Oates at the Agora Ballroom in Dallas. Ron Rogers (songwriter, vocals, bass guitar), Dennis Jay (songwriter, vocals, rhythm guitar), Joe Johnson (vocals, lead guitar), Larry Harteker and William Mansell (drums). 13 Hours of Rock! (words, music and lead vocals by Ron Rogers) Mr. Larry Harteker is featured on drums. 13 Hours of Rock recorded was in 1979 at Earth and Sky Studios in Austin TX by Mr Ju Wray.
