"Pioneers of Recycling"

This 1974 video had been lost , Well not exactly lost but unable to be transferred to a digital file owing to the fact that the original machine (a Sony Portapack) has long since disappeared. It's a very rough copy due to the deterioration of the tapes.

The Portapak was really the first 1/2 inch reel to reel video recorder. It was the size of a large suitcase.

Back in 1974 Alan Silverstein,Jim Youngerman and Kathy Kogan worked at the first glass recycling projects in Western Mass.

It was crazy ....and they were the"Pioneers of Recycling"
