Portland, Oregon
Tens of thousands of Portlanders and tourists showed up for the 11th Annual Providence Bridge Pedal today. After 20,000 cyclists and pedestrians jammed the bridges last year, organizers promised ten bridges without traffic jams.
"With the assistance of both the City of Portland and the Oregon Department of Transportation, we have revised the start locations as well as portions of the route to minimize the chance of traffic jams during the ride."
Join Dan Kaufman as he takes out the CrankMyChain! "Battlestar*" to find out the truth with live action video and interviews with participants.

*CrankMyChain! Battlestar includes:
+ Trek Multi-Track Ladies Bike with kick stand
+ Sony FX-1 Video Camera
+ Two Strong Legs
+ One Crash Helmet
Interesting. Never heard of this event before. It wouldn't work in Europe in this form though - *all* riders *have* to have a helmet and a high-vis vest? But the volunteers standing in the road don't have
vests? Still, good for Portland tourism - 6,8,10 bridges!

We did this as a ride, not a race, so it was fun and relaxing.
Kukubura was the awesome marimba band at the top of the Freemont Bridge.

Thank you so much for capturing the motion and music of a major city (Portland) closing down its freeways to cars on a beautiful morning to let the bikes have a blast!!!
