A newly opened windfarm in Lempster NH. When we took this video we could barely hear them. Wish we had a few hundred here in Vermont but I guess the enviro-wackos are opposed to them. So instead we burn oil. Duh!

Here's some more info:

  • Well, that's why I went up to check them out and see how noisy they are. And they were incredibly quiet. It's amazing to me that the people who opposed to them are often the same people who are anti-nuke. Oh ya, and anti-hydro. They're kinda anti-everything. Fortunately, these folks who know best about the environment and being one with nature mostly live in the cities so I don't have to deal with them too much...

  • Thanks-

Sorry for the crappy quality of the video, was from a handheld still camera and it was kinda windy and nippy. But a beautiful day. The towers are so excellent, wish the environmental wackos here in Vermont would wise up and we could have some renewal energy generated on this side of the river!

  • Not only the President, in VT the Progressives are working full time to close down our nuclear plant. The only real in-state source of power we have. Now we get to pay twice as much for power from Quebec, NY & NH. Of course the increasing large contingent of poor people can't afford to pay $300 a month for electricity so the socialists in Montpelier are cooking up schemes to make anyone with a job pay into a fund for the less fortunate so they can continue to watch their cable on 55' plasma TVs

  • "Under my plan, your energy rates will necessarily skyrocket".

    Barack Insane Obama

  • I love windpower when it's off shore, in the wasteland of someplace like nevada or utah, or in the median of some well traveled noisy interstate. (But I sure as heck wouldn't want to live next to one.) Just the thought of the crater shown here and the required access road that connects 40 to 50 of these babies on the top of some once remote ridgeline....Nope! There is a place for them though. I aint no environmental wacko. Just my 2 cents.

  • The tower is being serviced, that's why the blades are stopped, and yes, the blades do change angle to adjust for wind speed.
