Yeah discovered this too, i was in a hurry so i accidently shooted the guy and somehow he kept talking, anyways, i also had the glitch where by this guy followed me on the monorail

There are 2 things you can use him as if he cant moves 1: T-Bag him 2: use him as a human shield

Yes, the game only actually registers him as dead when he hits the ground. If you get him talking as he falls, this does happen.
