Young Epo students from shaolin practicing sanda in 2009.
Please dont leave any sarcastic comments because these are young students between the ages of 13-18 who are still learning and for all those keyboard warriors out there we all know you can do better so no need to tell everyone your opinions on what they did wrong.
For everyone else please enjoy and hopefully we can all learn together. Thanks
@Clinterus Yeah, I see your point. Someone should tell these people.

@jeffdoeskungfu I practice Sanda and many fighters do have a great side kick. The chest protector does its job I'm sure, but I would figure priority number one would be protecting the head. If you are kicking/punching hard enough to require chest protection, you should probably have headgear as well--in my opinion.
Concussions are all too common.

@Clinterus From what I've seen, san da practitioners love the sidekick. Usually the sidekick hits the torso area. I think they want to avoid serious damage done to the sternum or the ribcage.

Great video, it's nice to see some sanda sparring videos up, and both fighters did a great job.
However, I do have a question. Why bother with a chest protector and not headgear? If you're going to gear up, it seems to me like you should protect the head before anything else.
I'm just asking out of curiosity. Thanks!
