with or without vocals, this is amazing music!!!!! Thank you for unearthing this!

When I think about when this was recorded, what had been accomplished by others, I realize just how much creativity went into this. The layers of notes being arraigned like nothing ever before it.
You cant say, "It sounds like", because there is no LIKE!

Crosby's guitar is much more prominent. Sounds "edgier" very nice. McGuinns 1st solo almost sounds like a Steely Dan guitar solo. Just Awesome. Can't get enough of that compressed 12 string sound.

Thx for upload and the excelent Sound !

@FLHTP07 actually some parts were highly influenced by john coltrane

You're right. I must have been thinking about the Beach Boys (or many other acts for that matter!).

@tdell1275 on the byrds first single the wrecking crew played all the music except jim mcguinns 12-string, but after that they never used them again
-
Isn't this really the Wrecking Crew? I know they did the intrumentals on much of their work

Thanks ever so much, Captain Soul. I have three Rickenbacker 12-strings parked next to the speakers in my retro listening room. I cranked up this track, and the truss rods got so stiff my guitars were playing themselves.
I saw David Crosby live with SS and GN in Chicago the week before Woodstock, and I saw McGuinn at a solo gig about ten years ago. I can't get enough of that 60s 12-string thang.

I saw them at The Action House on L.I. a week or two before the single came out.
They played 8 Miles once in every set (they did 3). There was either a blizzard or Noahish rain that day and very few patrons showed up. About five of us stood alone before the stage and loved the 3 sets. Roger in granny glasses: "We'd like to play our new single, 8 Miles High." Rock On, Roger! Missing Clarence too.
This is on a CD entitled "Another Dimension" ?
