Bosnians React to Serbian Verdict

Relatives of Bosnian Muslim men and boys who were killed in Srebrenica in 1995 said that they were not satisfied with the sentences given to four paramilitaries by the Serbian War Crimes Court for the killing of the civilians.

Sabra Kolenovic, who lost her husband and son in the war said she was not pleased with the sentence.

"We are not satisfied with the verdict the Scorpions received," said Sabra Kolenovic, who is a member of the Association of Mothers of Srebrenica, which campaigns for a complete investigation of the atrocities.

''They should have received life-long sentences, the victims again remain victims and we cope with our pain,'' she added.


"Whatever punishment the Scorpions get it is too small considering what they did and how they did it," said Fatima Aljic, another woman from the group who lost her husband and three sons.


The victims were residents of Srebrenica, which was officially a UN-protected Muslim enclave during the Bosnian war.
