Excerpt from Forrester's Services And Sourcing Forum 2007. Next-generation outsourcing is the goal of many IT organizations that have spent the last 3-5 years ramping their outsourcing consumption and maturity. Now that they have achieved labor arbitrage gains, they are intent on finding the next level of value. Some companies are seeking increased business value from the optimization of systems, processes, and services. Forrester Research Vice President Stephanie Moore outlines some of the big trends driving this evolution, as well as describing some of the most effective internal steps clients can make before moving toward this model. A lot of hype and spin, one must ask is she selling a product or being factual. Sounds more to be the former. Innovation is lost when you outsource, not an old school thought. You train others to run the business you train them to be your competitor, and unfortunately your greatest ally is your own people who give back every day to the country you also gleem from.
