Every so often, I run into a bunch of women/young girls grating casava, a staple food here. It's a loooong process:
Step 1: harvest casava (it's a root)
Step 2: peel it
Step 3: grate it
Step 4: drain poisonous juices using long straw thing (think giant finger trap).
Step 5: dry in sun to make kwack or dry on flat oven to make casava bread
