that's what i was thinking. i saw a story on nbc news about the touch pads they use to determine the winner. they don't say how accurate they are. i have seen at least two events in these olympics where swimmers have tied. so, were their times EXACTLY the same? apparently the touch pads know the difference of one-hundreth of a second, and in this case phelps was the OBVIOUS winner.
