This drum kit is far too small!
Gunn-Hill for The Comte de la Duc de Rocofocould of Paris

@Martigena P.S.. Drummers do not play kits that big. OR even kits HALF that big. Try and figure out why and you will probably, and eventually figure out what MANY MANY MANY people have figured out about him, and guys like Travis Barker (different reasons). And that is: "fame" BLINDS so many people from what is really going on. What he plays, most people dont even enjoy, OH BUT they dont "get it" because its so melodic and complex? What crap!
-
@Martigena Every Bozzio groupie says the same thing. Polyrthythm this and that. ALL drummers do that. ALL. If you think he "plays" "complex" and you think "complex" is good. You would probably like music made by computers?. ME I need a human feel. That is something Bozzio NEVER shows and I fucking HATE that. Its kind of funny because I appreciate ALL music ALL musicians and say nothing bad about ANY musician. ONE exception: Terry Bozzio. Fucking Garbage !

@jordanjcm I think you've got a point when you say that people will be mislead by the set up, but I don't agree that this is plain boring, maybe to "some people" who you refer to, but you ask a skilled percussionist about bozzio's playing, and i doubt you'll find many prepared to slander him
-
@jordanjcm dude, I can understand the perspective that when someone sees a kit like that they'd expect some mad drum solo where bozzio blasts away with 16ths at 280bpm. When you talk about the playing "taking off" you mean to say, show us something we can understand the immense skill involved. Thing is the average audience member or youtube watcher, maybe doesn't get the ideas of timing, of playing a pitched percussion instrument as difficult as bozzio's kit or the difficulty of zappa's pieces
-
come mothers and fathers across the land and dont criticize what you dont understand
-
@Martigena YOU Keep telling yourself and other that. LOL I know this is a year old but it it was good and the playing was good, THAT ALONE would speak for itself. It does not. You really dont think that is maybe because it is just plain boring? The 800 piece kit just ADDS to the boring factor because with an 800 piece kit, some people are waiting for his playing to take off. But, it NEVER does.

these vids should also be about SOUND!

he is a monster , i will have to take my time to apreciate this piece ,at this moment i dont understand it , it is dificult , but the more i listen to it the more it makes sense however i do believe this piece is a show off , not from part of bozzio , but from zappa and dont get me wrong im not that saying that is bad , showing off is nothing bad at all . but musically this piece is nothing but a huge show off thats the idea , that is why its called "the black page"

Anyone that is saying this is boring, and unnecessary crap could learn a thing or two from it. It only seems simple because Bozzio is an amazing musician. When you have mastered your art, it should look easy.
i dont care what anyone says. i happen to think bozzio is one of the finest percussionists out there. he has talent, chops, dynamics, and a real insight on what hes playing. so SUCK ON THAT HATERS

And another thing: nobody has ever said that the size of the kit is what makes Bozzio good. His polyrhythmic skills, his incredible ostinato work, his melodic approach, his amazing musical attitude and discipline, and apparent ability to play any style you throw at him; those are the things that we appreciate him for. His setup has simply grown over the years to become the melodic monster he now uses.
