NAMED: SmashStack
DOWNLOAD: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Smash_Stack
FIRMWARE: 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, etc all working. Basically, if you can run SSBB, you can use this.

About homebrew in general: http://wiibrew.org/

Exploit by comex, ELF loading code by Team Twiizers. Bug used was discovered by svpe.

This exploit exploits a vulnerability in SSBB's stage builder code to run arbitrary homebrew code. Currently it will load an elf file from /boot.elf on the SD card.

This exploit differs from others in the fact that it is quite difficult for Nintendo to patch. There is no method on the Wii for patching games, and as this exploit does not go through the System Menu, it can not be patched by Nintendo at this time.

Join us in #usbgecko on EFNet (irc.efnet.net) to discuss! Release is when its done (aka: soon).

All you have to do to use this exploit is delete all custom stages on your Wii, then copy over the file. When you etner the Stage Builder menu, it will automatically run /boot.elf on SD.

I TAKE NO CREDIT FOR THIS EXPLOIT -- I JUST MADE THE VIDEO!

  • What is with all the selecting and going to other features of the game. Get to the point! You are going to confuse people asshole!

  • this doesn't work for Wii 4.3e, or it has lack of information. i did EVERYTHING EXACTLY how it states on wiibrew.org and nothing, the stage builder won't load the smashstack stage. (and yes i'm using a SD card with 2gb, and using the right smashstack stage depending if i have a save file or not, i did both deleting my save file, creating a new one... and nothing happened) I'll appreciate some HELP, please?

  • thanks dude

  • @VampireHarem ok, thanks

  • @StarFumu Oh alright. But if you did still need it, here's two solutions that might individually or collectively fix it: Ensure you have the PAL version instead of the NTSC, and then maybe move those custom stages onto your PC or a different SD card instad of keeping it on the same one.

  • @VampireHarem I moved the custom stages to my 2GB SD card, then downloaded the things and all and went to the Stage Builder. My system is 4.3E and my wii is PAL. But I think it doesn't really matter now since I got the homebrew channel like I wanted.

  • @StarFumu Are you sure you have both Bootmii and Smash Stack properly on your SD (Not SDHC so it must be less than 2GB) card? Are there any other SSBB stages in the SD card or on system memory (Must be deleted)? Are you sure you're using the version of Smash Stack that corresponds to your Wii?

  • I did all the things that I should and nothing happens when I go to the stage builder menu.... help?

  • if i uninstwll them will my wii be unhacked plz reply ASAP

  • @phish33194 try formatting the SD card on your computer first, then try it again.
