Dance music group from Hawick, Scotland & Newcastle, England. From 1994-2002.

Their first album, 'Freedom' was released on December 2000 and reached number 5 in the UK Independent Chart. Freedom stayed in the Top 20 for 14 weeks. QFX covered the Moby track 'Every Time You Touch Me' which shot QFX straight into the UK Top 40 at number 22 in January 2001 giving the band their first UK Top 40 hit. 'You Got The Power' was released in July 2001 entering at number 33. They have had many additional songs entering the UK charts and also remixed additional songs for other artists including Gala with 'Freed From Desire RMX' - peaking at number 2 and spending 14 weeks in the UK Top 40 in November 2002.

Now 600,000 sales later and thanks to Big Life Records, Kirk has now been presented with his copy of the Gold Disc.

Band members Kirk Turnbull (producer), Steven Lawes (MC, keyboards), Debbie Hudspeth (vocals), Lorna (vocals, now with Dymension), Stevie Scott (dancer) [2000-2002], David Goonery (dancer) and Brian Nelly (dancer).

  • Great info. Thanks for sharing!

  • Such brilliant memories of Art College in Carlisle! Thank you for posting this!

  • @SuperDarrens And I was referring to the fact that I got it on the day of release in the mid 90's! So yeah, I am aware of how old it is. Thought it was shit then and I think it is shit now.

  • @SuperDarrens Meh. Don't mind being called a wanker. It's just my opinion and if it's different to yours, I couldn't give a flying fuck.

  • @stuartshame ur a wanker m8 this at 15 years ago

  • I did buy this and their Moby cover (which wasn't TOO bad considering) and brought this without hearing it though the dodgy cover art did put me off a bit. My instincts were right. Made EuroGroove sound good!

  • @tokajlson I remember reading it was a take on the saying "Cue the special effects"

  • thats bcause its all shit we get nowadays! wots the sayin older the better!

  • fuckin dyno wee choon bringin it back way the old skool!!!!!!!!
