  • 1979 ford bronco, lincoln 460 and c6, cab swap to a 79 f150, flatdeck

  • @JudgeSteelflax On bone stock, i would say 4600-5000. I would not go anything past 5000, you would be really pushing it to beyond the limit. With 4:11s and a NP435, my dads 76 F250 with 390 with single burnt glasspack was pretty obnoxious at 3rd gear going 55, i imagine the rpms was getting close to 4500.

  • my 73 f250 highboy has a 460 and it hauls like a bat out of hell

  • Good luck workin' on your ride. Those 390 FEs are badass with a lotta horsepower and good gearing.

  • Shit I'd say like 4500... but most of your usable torque (depending on gearing) is between1500-3800. Mine pulls like a son bitch in that rpm range... beyond that it lags a bit. Got some hookers and comin in on friday... intake manifold shortly there after. Hope to boost the top end hp up a little more. Those 390's got a solid block- your only limitation is your pocket book.

  • what is the redline on these 390's? i don't have a tach so i never know how fast its turning. It's loud so it may sound faster then it actually is.

  • nice looking and sounding ford truck!!
