  • chhers jay, a wealth of knowledge as always,is there any benefit to compressing the levers or is it just one of them setups where it helps as the levers are awkwardly spaced

  • @gandelff999 The levers on these locks have to be compressed to allow the picking technique to work, or they simply get knocked out of position as you pick through the lever pack. The compression and tension has to be used with each other, easing the tension on and off to position each lever.

  • jay,is the cb pick used just a pre lifter or is it specifically for the 110,can an ordinary 2 in 1 be used? and at what point on a job would you off gotten the drill out, bearing in mind theres a customer sat in the car waiting etc, picking looks great and gives great satisfaction doing nde but would you off picked that on a job or just gone with a small hole through the casing and lifted the levers into place, though suppose its on the job that you'd know.great vid again

  • @gandelff999 The pick is designed to allow some 'compression' of the lever pack, whilst applying varying tension to lift the levers into place. There's no pre-lift involved with this and 2 in 1's etc won't work on any curtain type lock. You can however make the same type of pick as the CB, with a key blank cut and filed down to shape?

I would be happy with a 10 - 15 minute opening for this lock on a job (looks a little longer on the vid as I done both left & right and changed covers etc).

  • @gandelff999 i know where u coming from.... customers watch too many bond movies and think it takes seconds to open a lock lol .... prob i found is where i have picked something fast customers then start to ask why you charging so much ( £45.00 + vat for 1st hour for me).. anyway good to see there are some genuine Locksmiths still out there and we are not all 3 day course cowboys.. Nice picking btw.. just wondering how much harder it will be with a new 110 and the deeper false gates.
