A Strong M1.4 Class solar flare from AR 11261 was recorded at 5:19 August 2nd, This active region was just past the earth facing position so there could be an associated coronal mass ejection headed earthbound.

Associated with this blast was a Halo Coronal Mass Ejection which is earthbound or earth directed. Components of this Halo CME are expected to hit the Earth's magnetic field sometime during August 5th.

The magnetic field of AR 11263 harbors energy for powerful X-class solar flares. Because the sunspot is turning to face Earth, any such eruptions in the days ahead would likely be geo-effective.

A solar wind stream is buffeting Earth's magnetic field and causing intermittent geomagnetic activity around the poles. The peak so far has been a G1-class storm that lasted for several hours around the end of July 30th

  • Excuse me sir could i ask you something? Is this recent solar activity unusual or potentially harmful to earth. There are so many wackos on youtube i would apreciate an intelegent answer, I am kind of scared there is so much talk goin aroung i would like to hear from someone who knows what they are talking about

  • @cat101ism this activity is normal for this time frame or period in the solar cycle, nothing to fear, this activity will intensify as we get closer to solar maximum in 2013.

  • Thanks for the Heads up. Much Love, Peace :)

  • @Mr2tuff Coronal Mass Ejection headed our way

  • What Pole N or S ??

  • @TheWilfred007 North Pole, could be some sub tropical storm activity across the Arctic circle the next week or so

  • First destructive solar flare was recorded in 1859. Telegraph poles were on fire and telegraph network were down. After careful study, next event was already foreseen with 90% life wipe out but Scientist coded the actual date in Religious way to prevent people from panicking (late 19th century). Micheal the Archangel was the key where he defeated Satan and save the Earth from burning in Hell. 2012 - 1859 = 153.

Search 153 that relates "Micheal the Archangel" in Google. You'll be surprised.

  • ribbons, or jacobs ladder, like the one b4 fukushima. nice. here we go again

  • @SolarWatcher There are three CMEs heading our way, with a chance of a proton event when they arrive. Latest blast was an M6-class flare producing a bright Earth directed CME.

  • Things are really picking up...Alert...Another M6-class flare erupted from sunspot 1261, producing yet another bright CME. There are three in bound CMEs, with a chance of a proton event when they arrive!

  • Like if you are #306

  • @abbasgift I agree. This guy does not scream "Doomsday" He just back things up with facts, with a calm free, professional tone.

  • Hey everyone. lets go over to the nasa buzzroom and see what they are saying about the recent and upcoming solar flares, no wait we cant, its been down going on 7 months for updating, imagine that. Great info by the way
