The work Ohio Northern alumni will be on exhibit during Homecoming, Saturday, October 9 at the Elzay Gallery of Art. An opening reception will also be held directly after the parade (approximately 11:15a.m.).
The exhibit, "What Lies Ahead," is on display Oct. 1 through 11. "We planned this in conjunction with Homecoming and the department's 50th anniversary of the BA degree in art," said Melissa Eddings, professor of art and director of university galleries. The theme, Latitude: Art & Design @ 50, defines the ONU educational experience. "Our alumni demonstrate the scope and depth of thought that a liberal arts education can provide," explained Edddings.
This annual show features a different alumnus or a group of alumni each year. "The exhibit will showcase about a dozen alumni and about 30 pieces of work," said Eddings.
Since the department's first Bachelor of Arts degree offered in 1961, the A&D graduates have shaped the visual world around us. "We are pleased to have this opportunity to work with our alumni and to reconnect with many friends of the program," said Brit Rowe, chair of the art & design department.
Admission to the Elzay Gallery is free and open to the public, 10a.m. to 5p.m. during Homecoming Weekend and from noon to 5p.m. daily.
