This is a heavily edited (from 27 minutes) video from a lesson that was a new take on an old prac. Measuring student reaction time under different circumstances.

As the text at the end explains I slipped up at the end and didn't use what we as a class just created to discuss, I instead got the students to do their individual work, a mistake I feel, but I will be using this to generate a discussion next lesson.

  • Mabe you should build a pyrimid (or let them build one) and show them all the chambers sound good?

  • @TheMinecraftN3RDS I am planning something like this when we study ancient civilisations. But that wont be until the 2nd half of the year.

  • Agreed this is coming from a kids persective...gee i wish my school did this...

  • @TheMinecraftN3RDS Just because you are a 'kid' does not make your ideas/perspective any less valid. Remember it is kids that I am trying to teach here.

  • Edu Elfie Just Replying Again Its GREAT To Use Minecraft Bit Seeing This Is Limiting Them To Pressing A Button When They Could Be Making As You Said Ancient Civilisation ( I Respect The Idea Of An Experiment Though :D).

  • @TheMinecraftN3RDS Awesome, now I understand where you are coming from. I agree this limits what the kids can do in the world, but as far as teaching a concept I think it works well. In future I think I would be asking the students to create something in-game that would let them perform an experiment on reaction times. But we all gotta start somewhere.
