She's not denying anything. Americans (& maybe others) claim their town of birth as their hometown, so that's why she answered that way since it's an American interviewer. Do you think it makes any difference to the interviewer if she's ibo or hausa or yoruba?? As long as she said she's Nigerian, it's fine. As per her voice, I hear a little bit of Ibo & a tinge of British, no American at all...but who cares? Her industry loves models that have some form of accent so she has to blend in somehow
