  • I got vanadium in my vitamins

  • There probably aren't very many people who have heard of a vanadium redox battery. It uses vanadium ions in two different oxidation states in a solution of sulfuric acid.

  • @douro20 I thought 4V meant 4-volt!

  • Vanadium steel is some nice stuff. Knives made out of it take a razor sharp edge very easily.

  • Vanadium Redox batteries!

  • Ammonium metavanadate, NH4VO3, is used to make Mandelin's reagent, which is used along with Marquis reagent in presumptive drug testing. It's also quite toxic and mutagenic in many species.

  • @stuntpea

Yep; that's why it's called 6Al-4V. It is 6% aluminum and 4% vanadium.

  • ... and you can see that it's about 0.1 mm in diameter... a truely well-trained scientist. LoL

  • ...not to mention the "chrom-vanadium" alloy used for screwdrivers and all sorts of metalware and tools.

  • suggestion: maybe reduce an acidic solution of vanadium (V) with zinc amalgam? for a new video? yellow -> blue -> green -> lilac with varying amounts of shaking
