Childhood toy from the 80s

I've had this forever... I remember being little and getting so excited with everything it did (it worked much better than) Did anyone ever have this or any toy similar to it? Mine is the only on i've seen or heard of. Please let me know.

I have this toy. Its in my one year old son's room. It just sits on a shelf. He won't play with it. It's too boring compared to todays noisy interactive toys.
