A film produced by IMAK News and Entertainment Private Limited for the Indira Gandhi National Center for the Arts. The film is based on the quest of finding an original Urmi (also called belt swords) one of the most difficult martial art weapons to master. The Urmi is part of the ancient Kerala Martial Art traditions called Kalarippayattu. We travelled across the beatuiful Malabar, through Kerala's backwaters, its villages and towns visint the masters of the Kalarippayattu martial arts. This documentary is a fascinating account of how one of India's graceful and one of the worlds most ancient martial art forms is slowly dying. Did we find an original Urmi or not. You will just have to watch this film to know. Produced by IMAK News and Entertainment Private Limited / Arjun Bhagat.
