At a christening party, Melissa wants to be hypnotised... and despite all interruptions and distractions, this shows that once you persist in a calm and confident manner - hypnosis will work. You start this induction by drawing an "X" in the centre of the tip of the middle finger, and getting your subject to concentrate all of their conscious attention on this point - while you do the induction. This footage is taken on my Nokia - so please excuse if it's a bit erratic, and the lip-sync is a bit off...

  • nicely done...especially under those conditions!

  • @interstategar

It's not a case of he was full of shit! It was a case of you weren't compliant so it didn't work! If you had an open mind and tried to work with him it would work!

  • @interstategar i dont think you should make that comment unless you have a sound understanding of hypnosis. If you understood what you just said, i think you would understand what im saying this

  • I wouldn't go so far as to say he was full of s*** - because everyone has the choice to reject hypnotic suggestion, especially if you do what I call "internal dialogging" - which is basically having a chat with yourself in your head, telling yourself that the hypnotist is full of it, and how what he's doing isn't working. By doing this, you listen to yourself directly, rather than listing to the hypnotist with an open mind, so there's no way you can be hypnotized when you don't give it a chance.

  • Rather than to some degree I thinks its more than 50% required acceptance by the volunteer. I was on stage with Kreskin once, and he got nowhere with me. I knew he was full of s***

  • to hypnotize some people than others), and once the hypnotist has established direct communication with the mind of the subject, then instructions can be given to promote change of perception... for fun stuff like you'll see a lot of here on YouTube, or for real change in attitude regarding fears, or towards giving up cigarettes, or even losing weight in the clinical sessions.

  • Hey Gar... I've got to disagree... Hypnosis IS an actual state - although you are right to some degree - it IS following instructions as well. To try to define hypnosis in it's most basic way - would be that the mind of any individual, follows the most dominant set of instructions at any given time (be it from the individual themselves - or from a hypnotist) ... It takes a large part of co-operation and willingness to accept these instructions on behalf of the subject (which is why it's easier

  • no such thing as being hypnotised. Its just following instructions
