  • what for a sculpting material you use??

  • sculpey

  • So what type of oven clay did you use? Did you bake it in the oven and then make the cast? My doll is coming along

  • Oven clay called supersculpey was used. Resin of a polyurethane system currently generally used by the garage kit etc. is used for casting.

  • Hello-just started to create my own BJD and I am using the yoshida style book as a reference-such as making a styrofoam core of the doll-but what technique did you use? Did you sculpt yours first and then cast it? If so I would love to know how you made the mold-I would prefer to sculpt it and then cast it if possible-the styrofoam core is messy and cumbersome! Please Respond I love your videos and your dolls!

  • Hello.

I think that "yoshida style" is very excellent as a primer for making BJD.

My doll was piled clay in the core material made with the wire of aluminum directly.

It is because it assumed changing a form in the middle of work.

My doll transposes to resin what made the prototype with oven clay and was molded with silicone rubber, and is made.

I want to see, when your doll is completed.

    Please make a cute doll.

  • @aidanlasharrah Those are called marbles. Not that hard to find. Go to an art store or a Walmart-type store and you can get a huge bag of them in any size you like.

  • That's incredible !

  • @antijelly thank-you for answering. I'm still a bit lost but I WILL figure it out.

  • @TheSKYizFalling for one method they use rotary molds to make them hollow,

then drill out the holes for the strings using dremel tool

and there is a way you can make the molds so that will come out hollow but thats kinda hard. lol

  • @antijelly 2years late...what did you find out please share.
