CGI Video Animation FX Sequence: "The Portal"

A while back I uploaded the title sequence to a short film called "The Portal." I recently came across a low-res animatic I had rendered depicting the climax of the same movie, so I thought I'd post it here. Since the animation was never finished (because the movie never was) I spruced it up with a few Particle Illusion explosions to give it a little more punch.
The scene shows escape pods launching away from an invading alien spaceship just before the inevitable happens. Enjoy!
