You're wrong. The french word for french is always masculine. If "le/la" is meant to replace "language" (or "la langue", in french, as in "la langue française", then yes), then yes, it's feminine. However, if you refer to the language DIRECTLY as "français", in this case it's "LE français", and it's masculine.

No it is not. It would be la parler not le parler because the french word for french (when referring to it as a language) is always feminine and thus would be la not le.
