Four hundred yrs is a SHORT period of time, the Name of Allah was known LONG before that, used by the Jews and Christians of Arabia. The pagans (also) differentiated between Allah and Hubal, Allah is the Creator (Q. 39:38) not Hubal

It is in act true that before the coming of Islam many "gods" and idols were orshipped in the Middle East, but the name of the moon god was Sîn not Allah, and he was not particularly popular in Arabia, the birthplace of Islam.

This charge is absent from the Quran, nobody in the Quran ever said Muslims worship a different God.

Long before the advent of Islam, the pagans of Arabia worshiped the One True God and later 360 idols were introduced as "gods" between Allah. The false god Hubal was taken to Mecca 400 yrs before Islam from the North, originally a sun-god from Babylon! There's no evidence Hubal was a moon-god or that Allah was "one of the idols". The Quran quotes the pagans that Allah is above the Heavens,

The jews, christians, or pagans NEVER objected to this verse. They never said "Hey, you worship Allah the moon god!" They submitted to Q. 29:46, the jews and christians of Arabia called GOD 'Allah' long before Islam. One example is Waraqa bin Nawful. The "moon god" charge is a MODERN allegation, concocted by the sub-human dog "robert morey".
