This song was written with the intention of having a 1960's Detroit style rhythm, influenced by the great musicians of the city at Motown and all the other session players that performed on the countless recordings that eminated there. There are lyrics and I hope to record the track in Detroit next year with a full band and vocalists.
Prior to writing the song I had been invited by email to listen to WFM Manchester by Harry Grundy who presents a Northern Soul programme called 'The Right Track'
http://www.therighttrack.org.uk/
and transmits locally and via the internet. I tuned in and I enjoyed the programme and heard it had immense following from listeners around the world. I decided to write a song that had a similar rhythm to the records he was playing and came up with a bass line and a title called 'Suddenly there's you'. I added other instruments and sent Harry a demo of the song and he played it on air, which was a thrill. The version here has a Hammond style organ on it, but the first version I sent Harry was just a basic rhythm section. I now listen to each weeks programme live or down loaded to hear the experts talk about records and venues and talking to some of the fabulous guests they have on there!
