In Spring of 2010, Rare (www,rareconservation.org) and an array of partners will launch a campaign to save some of the most threatened species in the Andes. At multiple sites, Rare and its partners will implement incentives for local communities to protect watersheds and habitats that harbor the last populations of various birds, amphibians, and marine species (see AllianceForZeroExtinction.org), as well as support the health and livelihoods of people throughout the Andes. In this video, Rares Vice President for Latin America, Keith Alger, describes the program under development for members of the Rare board and potential partners like the Global Environment Facility.
