  • I agree. I just let the old drive hang out of the box by the IDE cable. When just pulling data from it. The guy in this video is all like,"Blah blah blah, this thingy here is something that you move here and screws go here". They don't care, they have over 100,000 half assed videos on all sorts of shit. They''ll never respond to comments and they are living off of Google.

  • Well, this back up method will not work all the time. It depent on the New computer's motherboard and the OS for both system.

The best way to back up data is get a all in one IDE/SATA to USB connector. Under $20 from eBay or Fry's. Just get your old drive out and connect to the USB, plug into your computer then you are ready to back up. 100% working all the time, unless your HDD death.

  • Should we all do that I don't think so that messing with the hardware would be advisable for all of us I think rather we should take help of some software to get the data from a drive, I've heard of Stellar Drive clone software, don't actually know will that work in this case or not but it creates an exact replica of the hard drive that is for sure

  • Data recovery software is really a good thing, MiniTool data recovery software is a good choice for you. It is easy to use and it is efficient.. some of the editions are absolutely FREE!!!!!!!!you can have a try.there ia s data recovery software is just for the Mac.

  • 9 peoples Pc's died and 11 mac owners are laughing at this!!!

  • Total Backup Recovery™ 7 Advanced Workstation

Automat backup and restore management for all networked laptops & workstations from a centralized administrating console.

  • That backup thing with an external drive is just bullshit. You pay more, because it's an external drive and if it's not SATA, it's even slow to backup, for what? When you could have used an internal drive instead? Let's be fair here.....how many of the people who use an external drive connect/disconnect it every day to place the backup in a safe location? Indeed, NONE!

  • This actually does work.. But don't always depend on it; its always better to buy a flashdrive and keep saving anything you need in the future..

  • i should of looked at this b4......

  • Use the program acronis migrate and follow the steps this will migrate all your data including the operating system.
